Grateful for sunshine!

Saturday February 24, 2024  We’re still in the grip of winter here but the days are getting longer with the promise of spring. Farmer Ed got the tractor stuck in the snow (it’s been living in the big barn) and decided the snowblower will have to do the driveway clearing job for now. The Yarn Barn is buried and can stay that way til the spring melt. Coyotes are in their mating season now and have been coming too close for comfort. As a result, the house dogs are on high alert and I’m grateful they do not climb fences. (remembering our dear Blue with fondness)  This time last year was snowy, but we hadn’t even begun to see the worst of winter. I do hope this year is easier on us. 🙏

Toothless the tiny feral kitten makes an appearance every once in a while, but not regularly enough for me to build a relationship. We have had a few more interactions where i sit very quietly and watch him eat, but if I even move my foot, he runs away. Patience, right?

Also, I’ve returned to the doll making table and that feels so good!  I blast my little heater out there and I’m immersed in the spirit doll world. She/he is coming to life and I’ll share our progress.  This doll is bringing me back to a good place.

The “cat mats” are in the store. Alpaca fibers felted in a cute felted mat to give your feline friend a warm and cozy place to perch.  You can see them here.

24 days til spring. 🌸  We can do this! Stay warm and thanks for checking in.

Photos of the day:

Winter is always more tolerable when the sun comes out.

When the eyes look back at me, the magic begins.

My sweet baby dragon, Toothless.  Look, but don’t touch, right lil buddy?
