Out and about

Tuesday October 24, 2023  We’re just back from a little road trip to Boulder, Utah to visit our youngest son and his wife. Considering this is a remote type location, we had some of the best meals of our lives!  If you’ve never been to Hell’s Backbone Grill, let me tell you it’s worth the drive. (But you better have reservations) Also our daughter in law opened a food truck this year Wild Indigo Cafe with more delicious food, check out their menu too. Sooo good.  The kids just finished building a house and will be ready to welcome our newest grandbaby next April!  Whooo! All good, right? Thanks to Beth for staying here to feed the house pups while we were away.

It is nice to be able to take off and not worry about the alpacas and their guardians, but still I miss them so. The new owners sent me photos of Blue and Juno while we were away and I broke down in a hot mess of tears. Some day I will not cry, but the tears haven’t dried up yet.

Six bags of alpaca roving are ready for pick up and six more will be going in on Wednesday. I’ll be more than ready to “fibernate” this winter. Some will be for sale as well. Several people in Boulder wear my alpaca knit hats and I promised I’ll have more of those available soon too.  And we’re out of soap!  Gotta get busy on that too.

Thanks for checking in. ❤️

Dining at Hell’s backbone, with owner Blake as we get ready for some of the most amazing food in Utah.

Thanks for the update Linda! What a pleasure to be able to visit your son and daughter-in-law in Colorado; I love the nature setting of their new house. And a new grandbaby – how exciting for you and Ed.
My heart is with you as you navigate your new phase of life without your alpacas and guardians. They will always be in your heart and soul. As my mom always told me, where one door closes, another door opens and brings with it new and exciting adventures. Hugs.

Thanks Maureen! I agree with your mom. For the record, our kids live in Boulder Utah. It’s an undiscovered treasure there!

Ohhhh my!! What a view from their deck! Even the view from the window in grill :-)! I am so happy for yours and Farmer Ed’s new adventure, as you know, there is some beauuuutiful country throughout Utah, as well as the intermountain states, and the Northwest, and Yellowstone, and…..LOL! I love living here. I cannot imagine how you miss Blue and Juno, your beautiful sidekicks, however, I believe that like our fellow Hoomans, we are also connected to our animals and will be forever. There is a reason why God gave them to us 🙂
    Love you friend.
