So what’s happening now?

Thursday, August 17, 2023  It seems time to drop in and let you know what going on around here.  We have several parties interested in the herd. But nothing is for sure as I type.  So I said to my sister last week, I think it’s time to learn to make granny squares.  It might seem crazy, but it takes just enough brain power to keep me on an even keel and I’m having fun relearning how to crochet. So now my sis and I share progress in photos and it’s fun to learn together. I do have a yarn store right outside my door!

Summer afternoon thunder storms bring all the animals into the barn and I enjoy sitting with them too. Juno and Blue are not happy about the big claps of thunder but when they see me being OK with it all, it helps.

Meanwhile we’re enjoying the little things like garden ripe tomatoes and cool summer evenings with the windows wide open.   Happy Thursday!

Photo of the day:  Juno likes to hold my foot during thunderstorms.  ❤️

Lovely rain is always welcome.

My first granny square was made from Rocky’s yarn.

Tomatoes like these only come in the summer.  Oh my.  Thank you Park City Farmer’s Market!

That is so cute.- Blue holding your foot. I’m a crocheter and love doing granny squares! They are quick to work up, so you feel like you accomplished something. Of course, finishing the lapghan or afghan is another story… I never learned to knit and I blame it on the fact that with crochet it is sooo easy to undo if you make a mistake! I did finish a sampler lap robe which uses all different stitches. It gave me a chance to use lots of leftovers from all different of my alpacas’ yarns. The result is so very soft! They make great family gifts too.

Exactly Lana! Having one square done with a sense of completion is the best! And fixing a mistake is so much easier than knitting. I can knit, but I’m sure not a pro and if I make a mistake, the project is over! lol Who knows if I’ll ever complete an afghan, but for now I’m proud of my growing pile of squares. 😁

Awwww, that is so sweet that Juno likes to connect with you that way when she is a bit frightened. Those tomatoes look ah-mazing! Made my mouth water😁
