Saturday, July 22, 2023. If you live anywhere other than Utah you might not call this a holiday weekend but believe me it is a big deal here. July 24 is the date that Utah celebrates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. Pioneer day! Since Pioneer sounds a bit like Pie and Beer, it’s also called Pie and Beer Day. 😀 I’ll let you guess which one we will be celebrating. It’s also Fiesta Days in our nearby local town, Kamas, with rodeos, parades and of course FIREWORKS! They started the big booms last night so I stayed in the barn with the white dogs til way past dark to try to comfort them and keep them from running off. And these fireworks will continue til Monday which is the actual holiday. Oh joy. But our entire family is here for a week of ranch fun so we’ll cope. All 13 of us together again. ❤️ I’ll get back to my regular blogging once the house is quiet again but for now I’ll just enjoy my family. Have a wonderful weekend!
