Back for now 😁

Sunday, July 2, 2023  We’re back and happy to be home. The alpacas were happy to see me but they enjoyed their farm sitter so much they barely missed me. The gentle boy was the full time care giver here while we were away!  Of course his parents stayed here with him, but he was the guy in charge and did a great job. The house dogs missed us most of all as usual. Sadly for them our suitcases will be staying out because we are leaving again in about a week. Because of that and how much work has piled up for me, I am doing a Sunday only post until later in the summer when things settle down.

The fireworks started last night and I sat in the barn to help calm Blue until they stopped. I tried doggie CBD oil last night, Juno was very relaxed after hers but Blue might need a little bigger dose. We have several days of big booms ahead for me to find his perfect dose. Poor guy, he gets so upset. I clearly remember when I was in the hospital being stitched up last New Year’s day from my fireworks induced dog bite how so many of the nurses and the doctor told stories of fireworks causing so many problems for dogs and their humans. I’m not a fan of the big booms because I see how much it bothers the animals. And if we could just confined it to one day I could handle it but this will go on till Tuesday at least. And then because Utah loves fireworks so much we’ll do it all over again on the 24th. ugh.

To all the folks who called, texted and emailed while we were away about scheduling a tour, please try again. Now that I can see my calendar I’ll be able to see what days are open. But as I explained before it will be a very busy summer for us and tours will be hard to come by.  Have a great week!

You are spot on about the fireworks….one day, period! Our poor dogs!

Agreed! Last night was so hard on all our dogs. Neighbors down the road do a HUGE display and we’ll have to endure it all over again tonight. We built Blue a “cave” in the barn and he seems to feel safe in there. Better that scaling the fence!
