How’s the river?

Saturday, April 15, 2023  With record breaking snowpack comes record breaking flooding.  Most of the snow in the higher elevations hasn’t even started to melt yet, and a few cold nights has slowed things down nicely. But all that water has to go somewhere!  We walked down to the Provo River yesterday to see how things look. So far, so good. It’s up, but has room to rise.  We remember spring days when the water splashed up over the bridge and the concern this year is will the bridge be safe? We talked with a neighbor on our walk back home who has lived here for much longer than we have and he said he’s seen the bridge be taken out by the river 3 times.  yikes.  For reference there are 3 houses between Blue Moon Ranch and the River.  It usually crests in late May. We’ll keep watching for sure!  Happy Saturday!

Eeks. Maybe the drought helped to keep the river lower, so it has room to rise now? Hope so. Bridge looks pretty sturdy, so I hope it makes it through the melt. A slow spring is a good thing…
