Guardian dogs in Winter

Friday, February 3, 2023  Yesterday was a gorgeous winter day at the ranch. Blue skies, abundant white snow and no wind at all.  Some of the alpacas came out to eat the hay we put out in the sunshine for them, but others prefer the comfort of the barn. The guardian dogs however have made their paths to reach all areas of the property and it seems they never stop. The paths they have made have a foot or 2 of packed snow under them, but for now it all works. Juno had her sight set on something hiding across the road, she went back to that spot many times during the day. Blue sometimes decides to let her handle it. If whatever it is approached the fence I’m sure he would be there right beside her. As always, I’m grateful for these amazing dogs and the work they do.  Happy Friday!

You can see how deep the snow is under their trails when she goes under the shelter, can’t’ see anything but tail and ears, then she comes out again.
