Stuck in snow!

Tuesday, January 10, 2023  I really am a winter lovin’ gal, but holy moly we could use a little break from the snow here.  Just to catch our breath and get the gates open!  Sheesh. I might have to try some one-handed shoveling today just to give Farmer Ed a break.  We got at least another foot of snow overnight on top of the already deep snow we have. I can see on the cameras that all the animals are fine.  This is one reason I like to put out extra hay! Also grateful that we have automatic waterers.  More snow in the forecast.  Wish us luck out there! ❄️  I think I picked a good winter to pause farm tours!  lol    Have a good Tuesday!

Photo of the Day: Good morning from my kitchen window. At least we can still see out a little!

Nobody open this door!

Feel your pain! We had about a foot last night, too. Weather .com said we’d only had 7” in the last 24 hrs. They lied. 😂 Lovely knitting weather as I sit on my couch and watch the little birds enjoy our two feeders. The “biker birds” (aka mountain jays) flip put more seed than they eat but the little birds and the bunnies pick the seed off the snow. We have serious WW1 trenches dug out (by hubby with snow blower) to the feeder trees and to give the dog a place to go. While a bit of a pain it is beautiful and we really need the moisture.

I wish I could enjoy my favorite winter activities, knitting, spinning, etc. But all those require two hands and it will be a while before I can use both of mine. Our biggest challenge today will be to clear the gates to get back to the boys barn. But we’ll do it! 😊

Oh my! We need some of that snow!! Getting snow on Thursday, but rain and temps in 40s on Friday. Waaah! It is practically mid January in northern NH, so what gives! We have snow on the ground now, which is pretty, but could use more. You guys sure get a lot of it! Clearing paths and paddocks keeps us busy when we have the normal amounts, but only one storm (2 feet) in Dec required that. Since then rain, and just a little snow. 🙁 Your place looks so pretty with all that white stuff!

Thanks Lana. I know we need it and it is pretty so I try to keep that in mind when we’re shoveling out gates over and over. 😊

THAT is a LOT of snow!! But it is beautiful and your photos look like something out of a magazine! So pretty! I feel so bad that you are handicapped! Bless Farmer Ed! If we lived near, we’d be so happy to give you a hand with the shoveling!
