What now Blue?

Wednesday, November 9, 2022  Yesterday I watched Blue run from Juno with some creature in his mouth.  eeeewww. I also was bracing for a fight between the dogs if it was something Juno really wanted. I followed him around a corner where I knew he couldn’t get away from me and I was so relieved to see that it was a toy that I had given them months ago. whew. He carried it around for quite a long time before it seems he buried it somewhere. It’s what he does with his toys when he doesn’t want to share with Juno.  Not to worry she has plenty of toys too.

We got a nice bit of snow overnight and more expected today. Then we have 2 days to clear paths before the event on Saturday. Perfect. The dogs and alpacas do a pretty good job of making paths too, so they can help.  lol   Happy Wednesday!

Love this picture! That face! No matter how hard these dogs work and how serious they need to be when it’s called for, they are still sweet, playful and puppy-like! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

How sweet! Reminds me of some Eaglets that hatched in a nest in Ft. Myers, Florida several years ago. M15, the adult male, was a wonderful provider for his mate Harriet and their precious chicks. Fish, eel, squirrels, and other yummy varmint were often on the menu! One day he brought a stuffed squirrel that the eaglets immediately embraced. As the nesting season wore on, Stuffy became pretty yucky, but remained steadfast in providing a soft place for the eaglets to nap against. After fledging, the nest was somewhat cleaned out and Stuffy’s remains were removed.

Hurricane Ian took out the nest this year, but the tree remained standing. Immediately upon M15 and Harriet’s return, they began to rebuild and we are now awaiting eggs to be laid. I love the beauty and wonder of nature! Thanks for providing your lens to the alpaca world and your lovely dialogue, Linda!

What a sweet story Gigi! Thanks for sharing. Maybe M15 will find a new stuffie for his family this year. 😊

I love that Blue hides his toys from Juno! And what a great story Gigi tells. Who knew eaglets would like stuffies. 🙂

Really! The “blue manatee” was one of their favorite toys and it’s been missing for months. I’ve considered getting them another one for Christmas. Blue buried the original manatee deep in a compost pile and we discovered it last spring. Juno then claimed it, but it suspiciously disappeared again a while ago. Hmmmmm.
