Winding yarn

Tuesday, September 27, 2022  The chill in the air each morning reminds me that one of these days it will be too cold in my studio (AKA the garage) to get much work done out there. So I’m winding skeins of yarn into workable balls for making my hats. Most visitors who come here end up buying at least one hat so I need to keep the supply up!  We’ll have plenty available in the online store for holiday shopping as well.  Now go get knitting Yaya!

Photo of the Day:  Round and round it goes. Yes that is a dog grooming table I use for winding yarn. We’re multi purpose around here.  😊

A center pull ball is much easier to work with.  I got about 10 balls done yesterday.  That = 5 hats.

I just dyed some yarn that color! You have the same swift as I do. I have to make sure no kittens are around when the balls are getting wound. That swift is fascinating to them, but not actually too safe for them to stick their paws in. lol An electronic arm going around the ball winder?? Interesting.

All creatures seem fascinated by the swift when it’s turning and it’s actually my arm that is powering the whole operation. I’m turning the handle to the right just outside the photo. 😊
