Keeping cool

Wednesday, September 7, 2022  One more day in the heat dome and then hopefully we’ll be on the other side of it. But today will be the hottest of all. We are breaking all heat records and Salt Lake was 105° yesterday. This is not climate change, it’s climate chaos.  ugh.  But we are fortunate to have trees, high altitude cool nights and springs to feed the grasses on the property so the animals are all OK.  Still, it’s hot and my energy is drained by heat. I was outside skirting fleeces til it got too dark last night because the heat of the day was too much. But we are picking up a load of new yarn today and I can’t wait to see it. And of course if we’re driving to the mill, might as well drop off a few more bags of fleece (the reason for me skirting til after dark last night)  Stay cool everyone, fall will be here eventually.

Photos of the Day: These pups know how to stay cool. And the alpacas keep the willows trimmed so we can see them!  Most of the grass is still green because of the water under the ground.  #grateful

He’s dreaming of snow.

Cool tall grass helps Juno be comfortable in this heat.

Hope things get cooler soon! You have fast turn-around for your yarn! That’s awesome. Around here it takes months to get the yarn back. Animals look pretty comfy under that tree!

This should be the last hottest day. Fingers crossed!
I get special treatment for fiber turn around time for a couple of reasons. #1 I’ve been a customer sending in many many fleeces for more than 20 years, and #2 I only send in the good stuff. So they know they’re not getting bags of garbage from me. Mutual respect. 😊
