Friday June 10, 2022 Almost ready! Barn was clean, and all beans were removed from the areas around the barn. Labels are ready for bags and brownies have been baked. The girls got a bonus beach day at the creek yesterday to help them stay cool but as of last evening all water access is restricted. Sorry guys, can’t be wet for shearing day! We’ll turn fans on in the barn and they’ll love that. I think the best thing about shearing day is that it only happens once a year! lol Happy Friday!
Video of the day: This video is from last year but it gets me in the mood. 😁 We’ll have most of the same team here again. That makes it go so smoothly! Experienced volunteers are awesome. Gotta love those who can still get down on their knees to grab the fleeces!

Reminds me of giving my horse (Arab/Welsh Cob) his summer haircut. Not quite that thick, but a lot would come off. I had 2 sets of body clippers each with new blades. Use one, and the second one in the freezer and trade back and forth. Also kept canned air which helped cool off the clippers. It was a job, but small comparatively!
