Expect good things

Thursday, May 5, 2022 I’m hearing the calls of the orioles more each day and honestly these orange birds simply delight me. Hummingbirds will be here any day now as well but it’s the Bullocks Orioles that are my favorite.  They weren’t always here, they came because I put out oranges one year and hoped they would come. And they did!  So I guess the moral of this story is good things happen more often if you expect them to.  Happy Thursday!

I have an oriole visiting my feeder for the very first time this year. I first saw it sipping from my hummingbird feeder (and they are back too!) so I put out oranges and grape jelly. He has come several times every day. Ignoring the oranges, but loving the jelly! I haven’t been able to capture a picture yet.

How awesome! I’ve had the grape jelly out for a few weeks but they seem to be mostly interested in the oranges this year.

I love it! When I lived in Timber Lakes I was able to attract them with oranges as well I love the variety of birds we get in the mountains versus what we have here in the valley
