A symphony of birds

Saturday, March 19, 2022   Well that was quite the moon last night wasn’t it?  The guardian dogs did some minor predator control barking but not as much as we sometimes hear during a full moon.  What we did hear were the sounds of Canada geese migrating along with our friends the sandhill cranes and redwing black birds chiming in. It was like a symphony as we sat on the front porch last night with family. We do wrap ourselves in blankets but the front porch is too lovely this time of year not to enjoy it. (perhaps because we don’t see all the work that is waiting for us in the pastures behind the house – ha) Our grandson wanted to stay when his parents left so we have him here for the weekend. Lucky us. We’ll probably continue with some halter training and get things ready for more snow on Sunday.  Happy Saturday!

Photo of the Day: Sandhill cranes look for food in the melting snow – just across the road from the ranch.

How lucky to have the Sandhills land so near. For the first time a red winged black bird visited my feeders. Such a joy!
