Sounds of spring ahead

Thursday, February 17, 2022  Right around Valentine’s Day every year I hear a single red wing blackbird calling. Soon he will be joined by many friends and they will all be singing their call that tells us spring is on its way. They love it here because of the year round water in the creek and the tall cottonwood trees for roosting. I’ve also seen them at my black oil sunflower bird feeders. Welcome back my friends, we’re glad you’re here. Have a good Thursday and I hope you enjoy some sounds of the ranch below.

Video of the day:  Welcome sounds of spring ahead.

I’m glad to know you hear them too, Gigi. It’s always such a delightful sound when they first come back.

I heard a Mourning Dove yesterday! That’s the first sound of Spring for us in the valley. It’s a beautiful thing 💜🎶

Thank you for the video with sound. I wasn’t sure what they sounded like. We get them at some point in the late winter, but I don’t remember when. Now I can listen for them too!
