Perspective

Friday, November 5, 2021  I spend more hours than you might think fretting over the pasture that has been destroyed in front of the girls barn. Over grazing is how it started, then it became the favorite pooping area, and then it’ became a low spot from picking up the beans, and now it’s a muddy mess. We’re considering closing the whole area off to the alpacas in the spring for a few months to try to rebuild and regrow. More fencing projects are easy to talk about when spring seems so far away.  ha

But when I walk to the far end of the pasture I can see that there is actually much more good grass areas than I thought. Sometimes a different perspective does help us see things more clearly.  Have a great weekend.

You are not alone over fretting over grazing areas. Dick is constantly improving sections, but gets annoyed when they make a poop pile in the middle of the best stuff! 2020 summer drought, plus overgrazing made more worry, but it came back with the rain this summer. We just wish the alpacas cared as much as we do about the work we put into their fields! ha ha
