Help! Rocky’s in trouble!

Wednesday, September 22, 2021 When I feed the alpacas, i do a quick head count to be sure all is well.  When I fed the boys last night, I noticed Rocky was missing!   A quick check of the boys pasture and I found him standing by himself across the creek.  Please understand that the only way he got there was to walk across the creek, so why he could not figure out how to walk back is beyond me. Perhaps it looks deeper from the other side? He was definitely not happy to be apart from his brothers and was pacing and humming. His brothers and I were standing on the other side calling him, coaxing him with his favorite pellets but for some reason he did not feel that he could cross the water. His dear little brother Remy then walked into the water and showed him that it wasn’t very deep at all, but Rocky still wasn’t convinced. I wasn’t wearing my waders, so I called the guy who solves all my problems, Ed. “Can you please help me get Rocky across the water?”  “Sure” he said “no problem”. He didn’t appear with waders so I knew he had some other plan. He “scooched” himself along the pipe fencing and landed right next to Rocky. After a little gentle coaxing Rocky splashed across the creek and was happily reunited with his waiting brothers. All’s well that ends well.  The end.  Photos tell the story even better.

Photo of the Day:  Someone help me!!  I’m stranded!!”  ~Rocky     (question of the day – How did you get there Rocky?)

I’ll show you how to get home- just follow me!!  See, it’s not very deep at all!    ~ brother Remy

Like this!!  See, it’s not deep at all!   (Rocky stands back still not convinced)

Nope, I think I’ll probably just die here.  ~Rocky 😩

Farmer Ed to the rescue.

With a little coaxing Rocky decided it wasn’t that deep after all.

Silly boy. You barely got your belly wet.

His brothers were waiting for him and they all shared a fresh bale of hay to celebrate.   I love happy endings.  Thanks Ed.
