Harvest Moon tonight

Monday, September 20, 2021 We have some cold nights in the forecast but last night they predicted a low of 37° so I didn’t worry too much. But when I got up it was 27° here so anything I left out got bit by the frost. I’ll miss all my petunias the most, they were so vibrant this year.

Fall is almost here!  Yay! All the animals that I feed – dogs, cats and alpacas seem to be extra hungry right now, they must sense a change coming. You’re right my furry friends but you know I’ll be here to feed you all winter so no need to go too nuts. lol  The harvest moon tonight will bring an abundance of bright moonlight early in the evening, which was a traditional aide to farmers harvesting their summer-grown crops. The guardian dogs will be extra vigilant tonight too since many predators are setting up winter homes and we prefer they not be too close to us here. It’s also time to sprinkle peppermint essential oil all around the house to deter mice from wanting to share our home this winter. A lovely time of year. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Photo of the Day:  This harvest moon looks like it’s being supported by the trees.
