Getting the barn ready

Sunday, June 6, 2021 The barn is slowly starting to look like shearing day is right around the corner.  All bits of leftover hay have been removed, floor has been swept and next I’ll assemble the fencing. I need to consider the efficiency of moving animals in, moving animals out, keeping them secure while they wait and also getting the boys in and out of the girls’ barn without any  “mingling”.  We do it every year, so I should remember but sometime fences and gates have been moved to other places, so it’s like rebuilding the system with different parts. Then I’ll make the bag labels, plan some food for the shearers and helpers and be grateful we only shear once a year!     Happy Sunday!

Photo of the Day: Good practice for shearing day when we sweep each mat between animals. 😉
