Signs of spring?

Thursday, March 18, 2021  The landscape here seems to change almost hourly with melting snow and shrinking puddles. With a high near 50° today I imagine most of our snow will disappear and we’ll find all those things that Blue hid before the snow came.  lol

Alpaca spice, our #2 most popular scent of soap is now curing in the mud room. #1 is Oatmeal milk and honey and it’s all sold out.(more to come) The curing soaps make the mud room the best smelling room in the house.  Dirty boots don’t have a chance.  Boyfriend soap will be ready next week, and I hope to get one more batch made this week.  One of these days we will open the yarn barn again and much of this soap will find a new home out there.

Another sign of spring is the boys jousting for top rank. Just in case a girl shows up, they want to know who is #1 in their herd.  This ranking has nothing to do with the fact that I almost always choose Romulus for breeding. They have their own way of looking at things.

Photo of the Day: Our black boys, Mojo on the left and Jett (sold) on the right had just finished a tussle to decide who is higher ranking. Because Mojo is standing higher on the hill, I think he won this one. But Jett thinks it’s not over yet.

They are such gentle animals I can’t imagine any ‘tussling’ going on. They are beautiful boys. You indicated that Jett was sold, are you still selling some and allowing new owners to board there?

I will sell alpacas if I find the right buyer. I’m pretty particular. 😁
And the boy “tussling” can get pretty intense. If we don’t keep their fighting teeth trimmed, they draw blood. I try to keep it real here and boy fights are my least favorite part of it all. But they happen.
