Our dear Charlotte

Monday, March 15, 2021  Charlotte the guardian came to us as a rescue in October of 2015. Abby, our older lady dog in residence was slowing down and Chief needed a companion to work along side him. She fit in well except that she chased the chickens, rearranging them when she could.  She didn’t want to eat them, but she wanted them in the barn with the alpacas. The problem was the chickens much preferred their coop and their own pasture. And I don’t think they cared much for her slobber all over their feathers either. So we called it an early winter and kept them in their coop til spring. By then she had lost interest in them.  She’s the most vocal of the 3 guardians we have now, alerting the boys to anything that moves outside the gates. She’s a very valuable member of the team and we’re grateful she’s here. I also think it’s safe to say she loves her job.

Happy Monday, stay well~

She is just beautiful! It’s fun to see that she enjoys moments of silliness in addition to her serious job of protecting the herd.
    Happy Monday!
