Winter Grazing

Monday November 30, 2020  The grass isn’t growing, but the bits of brown that have been left behind are interesting enough that the alpacas are happy to wander the new property all day grazing on what they find. It’s a natural behavior for them so I’m grateful that we got the fencing “Blue proof” and they can enjoy this activity until the snow comes. We saw cars stop on Lower River Road all weekend to watch them and this makes me happy too. Blue comes back wet and dirty after exploring every nook and cranny but he comes back! We’ve also opened up an area of the girls pasture (that they weren’t using) for the tweener boys and they are enjoying more winter grazing area now too. I’m so grateful that we have the extra space to let them all stretch out. Have a wonderful Monday and please stay well~

Photo of the day: The girls don’t seem to care that the grass isn’t green any more.
