Thank a vet

Wednesday November 11, 2020 On this Veteran’s day let me take a moment to thank all veterans both past and present for their service. One day of recognition hardly seems enough to thank you for the sacrifices you make or have made.  My dear dad served in the Navy and Ed’s dad served in World War I flying planes in France.  Today would be his 128th birthday!  Happy Birthday Great Grandpa Heintz and thanks for your service!

Farm news of the day: Blue is home and recovering. They told me to keep him quiet for a few days and I agree with that advice but it’s not that easy to implement. I set us a cozy confinement area in the barn – his bed with extra blankets, heat lamp, etc and he JUMPED out over an almost 4 foot fence. – not the best quiet keeping scenario!  So I decided to let him be and he crawled into a hay feeder and went to sleep there. One night last week during his big escape week, we confined him in the hay barn, thought we had it all secure and in a few minutes it sounded like Godzilla trying to break out of a cage. Yes, he got out then too. So hopefully he’ll rest when he needs to and not spend any extra energy escaping if we don’t confine him too much.

Thank a vet today and please stay well~
