Yay for mobile vets!

Wednesday September 30, 2020  I’m always a bit anxious when trying out a new vet for any of my charges but I knew this ear situation with Chief couldn’t wait and our regular vet (Wasatch Large Animal) couldn’t get here. I just didn’t think I could handle lifting the big old boy into my car.  I was so happy that Dr. Angela West could come so quickly. She’s been here before at some of our events as a customer! And now she has a very impressive Mobile Veterinary set up. She explained what she’d like to do with Chief and I told her I really didn’t think he’d cooperate getting in to the van. So she prepared to bring things to him and while we were talking, guess who jumped right in the van?!?!? Chief!  Whaaat? He seemed very calm in there and happy for the help. So they closed the door and he allowed her to do a thorough exam, shave the hair under the ear, clean it and administer some meds. I would have lost big if we had taken bets on that! I haven’t seen any of our dogs get an ear infection in ages, but Chief had a bad one. But after treatment, he’ll be good as new in a week we hope. She did say it was bad enough to be considered an emergency. Poor boy!

There are some days here that all I can do is care for the animals and yesterday was one of those days. Belle has recovered 100% an even saw her groomer yesterday, Ginger is doing OK on her new medication and I got about half the new burrs that Blue picked up off of him. Banjo had a meltdown when Belle left for the groomer and will not leave her side now that she’s back, and the alpacas were easy on me. They were grateful for the hay I delivered and stayed busy growing fleeces.  Perfect day for an animal lover I guess.   stay well~

Photo of the day:  What did I just see? Chief jumped in the vet van!

If you’re in the area and you need a vet to come to you I highly recommend you save this phone number! She can do lab work, dentals and surgery all inside this vehicle!

That. Is. Hilarious! Chief’s like, “I need help, she looks like help, let me just jump on in here!” What a great business model she has. I see a TV series on Animal Planet for her 😉

Enjoy this beautiful day that is brewing.
