Taking photos, making photos

Tuesday September 1, 2020  I love photography. I’m not a pro but I know how to make most photos into something nice to look at and I have fun doing it. I am always looking for material and my own back yard usually provides me with plenty. I have on occasion taken a photo shoot drive and didn’t see anything I liked until I got home!  But yesterday at the top of the hill near the ranch I happened to spot 2 vultures sitting in a “overly pruned” tree and stopped to take a photo or two – I did have my phone with me so that was what I used. The skies were gray enough to be interesting and I had so much fun tweaking this one. I’ve included to original below so you can see what I saw. Hope you enjoy it and please stay well~

Photo of the day:  Kamas valley vultures

the original: I saw the potential but it needed a few fixes.

Your sepia tweaks are nice. and make for an interesting picture. I used to think photoshopping or altering the original made me a cheater until i found Ansel Adams did lots of manipulating in the darkroom. .

I think every serious photographer uses some degree of edits to enhance their work. I use photoshop on 99 percent of what I post and never try to hide that fact. Most images need to be brightened or have a pice of hay removed etc. Just part of the fun. 😁
