Perhaps you forgot?

Thursday August 6, 2020  Perhaps you forgot that we are in the middle of a pandemic with more than 160,000 Americans having lost their lives? Sobering thought, isn’t it?  Yes, but often people pull into the driveway here, no masks in sight and want to come in just to see the alpacas.  I wish it was over! I wish we could schedule a big event!  I wish I didn’t have to use a mask and hand sanitizer just to take my dog to the vet. But it is what it is. I did take our old gal Ginger to the vet yesterday, there is a sign on their door : STOP! Text us when you are here, we will come get your pet and you can wait in your car. Payment was touchless and also done from the car. A reminder that sadly, things are not like they used to be. And that’s for a reason my friends, We are trying to keep each other from getting sick.

On a happier note, we will hopefully hear the pitter patter of little alpaca feet here next summer. We have been doing some breedings and Romulus and Stetson were very happy to see the girls again. Why did I decide to make this leap of faith? Because I believe in the future and I want to make it a happy one. No new puppies to distract me in 2021 and it has to be better than 2020, right? 🙂 stay well~

Photo of the day: Old lady Ginger who has some old lady incontinence issues. Fingers crossed that new meds will help control it.

Hope the new meds help Ginger. It is hard when they get older. The pitter pater of little alpaca hooves will be a fun thing to see next summer!

Hurray! I was hoping you’d decide too breed again. I’ve been stalking your blog to see if you’d made an announcement on the subject. (Who am I kidding? I follow your blog because it’s healing to the mind and soul. Plus I miss visiting you and your pacas!) But I know that crias season is hard work and I wouldn’t blame you if you’d decided to stop breeding. And I’m thrilled to hear that there will be more BMR babies. I can’t wait to see what Stetson and Romulus criat! 🙂
P.S. Ginger’s looking good for an old gal. Hope she’s doing well!

Jen, it delights me so much to think that you check in on us here. Perhaps we’ll be seeing you at an event next year when we have babies to show off. 🙂
