Pioneer Day or Pie and Beer Day?

Friday July 24, 2020   If you live in Utah like we do, you know that today is a holiday.  But for the rest of the world it’s just another Pandemic Friday in July and you might wonder what the fuss is all about.  Well, today commemorates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847.  Since Pioneer sounds a bit like Pie and Beer, some of the less religious residents of the state also call it Pie and Beer Day.  😀 I’ll let you guess which one we will be celebrating.   We’re also hoping for firework to be kept at a minimum for the sake of all the animals, but it’s just part of July in Utah.

We also got back our first run of yarn and roving for 2020 last night and it’s wonderful!  Thanks Spinderella! I’ll get photos ready soon so I can share the fibery harvest.  We’re still enjoying some family time with our daughter and grandson so only urgent farm chores are done each day and we’re all trying to pretend we are on vacation. We’re doing pretty good at it too! Stay well~

Photo of the day: Find some shade and take a nap while you can. It’s how they party.  lol
