Monday news

Monday June 22, 2020 As promised, another Monday update on our visitor status. Let me quote Angela Dunn, our state epidemiologist.  “The risk of being exposed to COVID-19 is higher than ever in Utah. I am urging you to limit your number of close contacts by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering when you’re in public places, practicing good hand hygiene, and staying home when you’re ill no matter how mild the symptoms.”  –Dr. Angela Dunn, state epidemiologist    Wednesday June 17, 2020

And then more sobering news from weekend: “On Saturday, the Utah Department of Health reported 643 new cases, topping the old record set just the day before on Friday, which was 586.  State epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn released a statement Saturday saying the number of new cases in Utah is “sobering.”  She noted that for three straight weeks the cases in Utah have been increasing at a rate that is not sustainable, and the state is at risk for overwhelming its hospital capacity.”

And then I see so many people in my own community who refuse to wear masks!!  I just don’t get it and I refuse to participate in that.

I’d love to have tours start again!!  I want to share Blue Moon Ranch now when the grass is lush and green and the animals look great and the puppies are craving attention. I miss having income! Yes, I know we are mostly outside, but our store is indoors and tiny and social distancing is not possible in there.  When I look at the facts from the past week, I’d be crazy to open now when I’ve maintained a safe place here for the 2 of us “senior citizens” since March. Things change every week and let’s hope we get control of the increasing numbers in our state so things can reopen safely soon. (hint: wear a dang mask)

Photo of the day: Monday again, already?
