Tuesday February 18, 2020 People have asked me how Ginger (our old labradoodle) is doing since we lost Jack, her buddy who was our oldest labradoodle. Actually she’s fine with it, she understands and knows it was the best thing for Jack. But Belle has been mopey, she wasn’t interested in her food for a few days and was much more affected by his loss. Maybe she picked up too much of my sadness. But yesterday was the happiest I’ve seen her in a while when her “cousin” Cassie came from Boulder for a visit. Cassie figured out the doggie door (thank goodness its XXL) over the holidays so the 2 of them were in and out running outside and playing all day. Sweet. And we had 2 very tired dogs when we were all ready for bed. Ginger is happy that Belle has someone to play with so that she can continue her old dog naps without disruption.
