Tuesday October 22, 2019 The snow is almost all melted and the leaves are falling. I’m hoping all the leaves will be on the ground before our next snow storm, I don’t want to lose any more tree branches! As the trees at the ranch mature, the leaves they send down to cover the grass in the cold months ahead are most welcome. No of course we don’t rake them, they really do add organic matter to the soil as they decompose. Thank you mother nature. The alpacas are fond of nibbling on leaves as well, their favorites are the willows, and we have plenty for them.
