Farm recycling

Sunday September 15, 2019  Living on a farm presents endless opportunities for recycling. Old shower curtains became tarps or drop cloths, old rugs become cat or dog beds, etc.  All of the containers I get my soap oils in become feed buckets and the list goes on.  Many times we look at something that has lost it’s first purpose and we know we’ll use it someday for just the right project, covering equipment or making things nicer for an animal. Rugs move from the house, to the porch, to the barn and luckily the animals are not at all fussy about colors or condition of their “new” things.  The other recycling phenomenon here is the whole concept of the “alpaca beans” enhancing the soil, which helps the grass grow which eventually is turned magically into fleece by the alpacas. How about that!  Happy Sunday!

Photo of the day: Belle appreciates the recycled pillow that ended up as hers. (she just had a super short haircut, it really is Belle)

Hi Jill, and thanks for your sweet offer. I just moved 2 big boxes of gently used towels out to the barn today, so I’ll have to pass. I think animal shelters can use them however. Maybe worth a call?
