Sunday June 2, 2019 Well we’re done with shearing for another year, and that is a wonderful feeling. We had the most amazing crew of helpers! Thank you so much to all of you! The weather was cooperative and the downpour waited until we were all in the house to eat and the alpacas all scrambled for cover in the barns. The fleeces are all rolled and ready for me to start skirting them but for today we’re taking it easy. Unless you are an alpaca farmer I’m sure it would be hard to imagine all that goes in to prepping for and hosting a shearing day but trust me it’s enough to wipe us right out. 🙂 Today I’ll be sure I know who is who as I relearn all the new faces.
