Thursday May 9, 2019 I finally had to open the gate to the barn yard area near Yaya’s Yarn Barn and what we now call the “wedding pasture” between the girls and boys barns. The grass was getting too tall and I know some really good grass trimmers who would love to help with that. 😉 . It was cold (I was wearing a down parka so I didn’t think the girls would end up in the creek, but I was wrong. Alpaca fleece is warm! So most of them decided to enjoy a dip in the creek. Not to worry, they were all dry and clean before they went back to the barn for the night. In a few weeks I’ll have to close off creek access so they don’t get too dirty before shearing but I’ll let them enjoy it a few more times until then.
