Tuesday August 14, 2018 Skunk encounter this morning! Just as it got light, I noticed all the girls huddled near the north fence line and quickly got the binoculars out. Yikes, a skunk, right there and the girls just staring at it. The guardian dogs hadn’t noticed yet. I quickly called the alpacas into the barn yard and moved the guardian dogs into the back yard, keeping the house dogs inside. The skunk appeared to keep moving along the fence and must have found a way out. There was a slight whiff of skunk in the air, but not the extreme smell you get when sprayed close up, thank goodness. I think I’ll just keep all the animals away from that fence line for a while this morning to be sure the little stinker has had time to mosey long to somewhere else. Happy Tuesday!
