Woodland Birds

Tuesday May 15, 2018  It seems as though over night, the winter birds left and the summer birds arrived.  Hummingbirds, Orioles, Goldfinches and Grosbeaks are new visitors here and they’ll stay for most of the summer because I make a daily effort to keep their feeders filled. I use about a jar of jelly every week just for the birds and the feeders are kept filled with bird seed as well. Fresh sugar water (1 C sugar to 4 C water) keeps our hummers happy too. Their songs and colors keep us entertained and we’ll enjoy them while they’re here. Our tree swallows are starting to build their nest in the bird house on the deck and they provide hours of entertainment too.  Happy Tuesday!
