Early Arrivals

Wednesday March 7, 2018  Ever since we’ve lived in Woodland I’ve enjoyed the birds and their comings and goings at different times of the year.  Bald eagles in winter, swallows in spring, orioles in summer and the Redwing black birds all year long to name just a few. But the arrival of the sandhill cranes in early spring is probably my favorite. It seems it’s a little early for them right now, but there they were standing in the snow looking hungry and a bit bewildered. I wish I could feed them, but they’ve done quite well without my help so far, so I think I’ll leave well enough alone. Happy Wednesday!
