Come visit Blue Moon Ranch as we celebrate the harvest of the fleeces! We have some gorgeous yarn all made from the fleeces of the alpacas who call Blue Moon Ranch home. Spinning demos will show you how we turn our fleeces into yarn. Stock up on alpaca socks, alpaca hats, mittens and more. We also have four handsome baby boy alpacas who we are proud to show off for visitors. Ryder, Roman, Rocky and Remy are all sons of Romulus and great fun to watch. We have 48 alpacas here and they’ll all be happy to entertain you. This is a 2 day event, we’ll be open both days from 1 – 4. We hope to see you! We have a limited number of $5 tickets available for each day. Kids 5 and under are free. Read below to see why we are charging for this event.
10% of our sales from this event will be donated to treesisters.org whose mission is to reforest the earth. Our last event raised funds to plant 490 trees! Can we beat that this time? I hope so. #saveourplanet
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you charging for this event?
Our events have become so popular, we needed to find a way to do a little crowd control. We’ve seen that this will make it a more enjoyable experience for those who choose to come.
Where does the money go?
All funds raised go directly toward caring for the animals that call Blue Moon Ranch home. We paid for almost 150 bales of hay with our summer event sales, but we feed 600+ bales each year. We are grateful for your contributions.
Can we feed the alpacas?
No, they do quite well grazing on fresh pastures and supplemental hay as needed, so they might get sick if we let guests offer them treats.
Can we pet the alpacas?
The friendlier ones often come right up to the fences and allow you to touch them. The more shy ones stay back a little so they feel safe.
Do you have items for sale?
Yes we do! We have a small gift shop called Yaya’s Yarn Barn with lots of alpaca items that are made from the fiber of our herd. We carry alpaca yarn, alpaca socks, alpaca hats, alpaca gloves, locally made pottery, hand made soaps and more!
What happens in inclement weather?
The event goes on. We have never cancelled an event for snow or rain and our visitors have a good time in all kinds of weather.
Can I bring my dog?
Sorry, no. Our guardian dogs will not allow any other dogs near their alpacas.
Do you have public restrooms?
Yes, for our Fall event we will have porta-potties available.
