I never thought I’d be the one writing these words, but here we are. The Blue Moon herd is for sale.
Health issues are forcing a change in our lifestyle. This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life, but it’s time. Please be gentle with any negative comments. My #1 goal is to find these beloved animals the best home I can. I know moving is stressful and the easiest way to alleviate the stress is for them all to stay together. For that reason, at this time I am not entertaining offers for individual animals. I reserve the right to choose the new owner for the herd based on the home you can offer them.
Entire herd of 43 ARI registered alpacas is for sale.
Female group of 30 to stay together.
Male group of 13 to stay together.
Discount if both groups go together.
Bloodlines include: CCNF Archangel, El Nino, El Nino’s Golden Legend, Show me the Money and CPeruvian Jaxon to name a few.
Male group: 2 herdsires, 11 geldings. Colors include white, fawn, silver gray, brown and true black. Ages from 2 years to 18 years.
Female group has 30 alpacas, ages from 2 years to 20 years.
Colors include white, light fawn, med. fawn, silver gray, rose gray dark brown and true black.
Males all get along with each other, females all get along with each other.
Outstanding fleeces on most.
The herd is used to having visitors come for farm tours. Most will eat from your hands, most have some halter training. All are gentle.
Extremely healthy herd, we rarely have any health issues.
We no longer go to shows, and our shearers do a great job without using any halters. As a result many have not had a halter on in years. I believe with a little work any of them would do OK walking on a lead.
Herd was shorn on June 10.
The very reasonable price will be shared after you let me know you have the land and ability to care for these amazing animals. The price is a small fraction of what these might sell for individually. Please be sure you have read this entire page and tell me as much as you can about your current alpaca housing situation. Land, location, shelter, etc.

1 male, I female, neutered, spayed and UTD on vaccines and microchipped. Blue (male) is 3 years old, Juno (female) is 18 months old. Very bonded to each other. Will not separate. He doesn’t like car rides or fireworks. They both love our visitors and all the animals at the ranch. Gentle with cats and kids. Respectful of hot wire, but must have good fencing. They know their job is to protect the alpacas and they do it well. They are not house pets, although I think they could be part time, and they do love attention from their humans. They love this herd and I’d be so glad if they could go together with them.
