Early February update

Tuesday February 4, 2025  For a break from the news and political insanity I decided it’s time for another blog post! Ha. I’ve found I must seriously limit my time looking at current events to maintain some degree of mental health. Are ya with me? I want to be informed, so I check my sources carefully and then look for beauty in nature and the world around me. If you’re trying bluesky to avoid Meta on social media, I’m there as @bluemoonyaya.bsky.social  Let’s connect!

I found an amazing fiber center that is buzzing with activity every time I visit. I’ve signed up for some classes and I’m very grateful to have such a place so near me. It’s inspired me to do more needle felting on my dolls and knitting with all the yarn I moved here. I’ve reopened the store to show what I’ve been up to. Rebuilding the store is definitely better for my brain that watching the news!

It’s been unseasonably warm here as I think it has been in a lot of the country. Yesterday we sat outside enjoying a 70 degree afternoon … in February!  Not complaining at all. We moved in September so it will be fun to see what spring is like here and what kind of things are growing on the property. We’re seeing hints of green already although I know we have more winter to deal with. But winter in Northern New Mexico is nothing like winter in Northern Utah. And that’s good. I’m hoping to be able to do some gardening, something I loved to do but had to give up when our growing season was a short 3 months.

So check out the store, still under construction, but it’s easier to work on it when it’s live. Click here to see the new under construction store.

Stay well friends, take care of yourselves and as always thanks for checking in.

Photos: The Wise Man is one of my best dolls ever in my humble opinion.  😁

There are times he almost seems alive. 😉  You can find him here.

My inspirational fiber center!

Of course the pups love going there too. I realized I haven’t washed my car since we moved and considering that, it doesn’t look too bad! 😂

The front porch with the ristras hanging is a fun place to sit on a warm day. So far they made it through the “winter” just fine. #grateful   Viva New Mexico!

The feral cats that were used to being fed here have mostly scattered to neighbors who put food out for them. But this one found a way to keep an eye on us. The dogs of course go nuts when they see this.🤪

So glad you and farmer Ed are well! The ristas are beautiful! The dogs look good too! I’m sure the kitty will warm up soon despite the dogs! Lol
Glad you found the fiber store! Can’t wait to see what comes next!!! You have inspired me to start crocheting again! It’s been so long since I’ve done it!

Thanks Kathie! How wonderful that you’ll pick up your crochet hook again! Have fun! Sometimes the fiber arts can be just what we need to soothe our souls.
