Happy Thanksgiving week!

Saturday November 23, 2024   Our family will be arriving this weekend for Thanksgiving week so I thought I’d pop in and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving before they are here. The gentle boy is finally coming to NM and I could not be happier about that! In the original plan, he and his family were going to move to NM before we did. Despite the best laid plans things happened and they are still in Utah. But it’s less than a 10 hour drive and a short 1 hour flight so I hope he will be here often.  His mom has been here 3 times already but school kept him in Utah.

I’m slowly decorating the house to make it ours. One of the last things I added was a photo of Blue that I had made into a canvas. Selling the alpacas was very hard for me, but giving up those dogs was what broke me. Of course it was the right thing, they wanted to be with their herd and the new owners wanted them and love them to this day!  But that doesn’t change that fact that I still miss them and they were a very important part of my life. So I added Blue to the wall.  I had tears in my eyes as I opened the box but quickly started laughing when Banjo barked non stop at the new photo on the wall! He and Blue did have issues in the past and Banjo is still not fond of my new artwork!  lol  Deal with it lil Buddy, it’s staying on the wall.

Our “girls’ week here was perfect. We enjoyed the pool, ate New Mexican food (different from Mexican food!) drank just a few margaritas, shopped and dined in Santa Fe and most importantly talked non stop. Farmer Ed came over to us at one point and asked “Do you three ever run out of things to talk about?”  We answered in unison, “No”. 😁 Plans are already in place for our next gathering.

I do want to keep the blog going, but the web host is continually raising their monthly fees so I am looking into options.  If anyone has ideas, please let me know.

One last thing. My page is not a political one. But I can’t be 100% silent on this. As you might guess I’m sick about the election results. If you want me to elaborate, send me an email. For me, it’s not political, its moral. What to do now? I wish I knew. Find your people. Never give up hope. Support those who need it.

As always, take care of yourselves and thanks for checking in.

Photos: Blue is now famous in New Mexico!

My daughter loves New Mexico and this porch in particular. I’m grateful she’ll be back in a few days.

Oh yes we did have fun!

Both dogs loved the extra attention but Banjo was in heaven.

Even though it was warm enough to be in the pool in the afternoon, over night we had freezing temps that added magical ice around the waterfall.  We’ll close all the water systems down after Thanksgiving, but we wanted to keep things running until after the holiday.

Thanks Sunny. It was hard for me to look at at first, but now I love that he’s here with us. Banjo disagrees! lol
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! Love your photos, especially the portrait of Blue…that face…one of a kind. Your new home is lovely and it looks so peaceful and comfortable…

Happy Thanksgiving, Linda. I’m so glad you are nesting in your new home. I told Erin tonight that I just started knitting with my last two skeins of Harry Potter! It’s tender to know that you and I and so many others who met and loved him don’t get to do that anymore. However, you gave all your alpacas a beautiful life, allowed us to connect with them and the experience of knitting with fibers from animals we have actually known is something to be treasured. I wish you depth of place, warmth in your hearth, and all the love your heart can hold. Much love to you and yours!

Dear Allison, your comments bring a tear to my eye. Sweet memories are all around aren’t they? Just to let you know, I moved many many bags of yarn to New Mexico with me and can hook you up if you need some! Love to you and yours this holiday season. Thanks so much for posting. ❤️
