Enchantment continues

Monday, October 7, 2024  It’s balloon fiesta time in Albuquerque and we are right in the middle of it. Hundreds of hot air balloons fly daily, weather permitting, from the field just a few miles from our home. We’ve noticed an uptick in traffic but we’ve been through the Olympics and Sundance film Festival in Utah so we can handle this. Ha.

Farmer Ed is loving the tropical temps in New Mexico but I’m anxiously waiting for cooler weather to arrive. I guess it might be a while. But we are assimilating. We have our NM drivers licenses and our car plates now sport chili peppers instead of the Delicate Arch. A trip to Santa Fe (my favorite city in the world) last week last week tickled me. Instead of flying in for a weekend it was less than an hour drive. (It used to take me an hour to get to Costco, so no big deal)

There are still boxes to unpack, but I’m seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. We left a significant portion of our furniture at the ranch, but I’m having fun rebuilding our home by attending furniture auctions, and buying secondhand stuff. I found a dining table with eight chairs that was built in 1908 and it’s in great condition. It’s perfect for a house built in 1901 that is also in great condition.

Last week I unpacked my fiber room. OMG I have enough roving and yarn to last me the rest of my life. I was hesitant to sell any of it because I no longer had my fiber producers standing outside my back door. But looking at the stash, I have I really must consider a sale. Stay tuned. 😁

Today we’re also celebrating 35 years of marriage! Happy anniversary to us. Life is good. Thanks as always for checking in.

Many more at the Balloon Fiesta Park.

A side table was included with my used dining table find. This piece is now covered with family photos. ❤️

I am trying to get the courage to move. I live in Rock Springs, WY and was at your place several times. I am using you as an example for all of the different and exciting things that are possible. Your commentary and pictures are always enjoyable!!

Thanks Linda! You can do it! The only one who can limit your accomplishments is you. Don’t get me wrong, moving is hard, stressful, and not for the faint of heart. But if you set your mind to it, you will find opportunities instead of obstacles. I wish you the best.

Your images perfectly capture the NM spirit. Glad you are loving your decision to move there. Continued best wishes to you and Farmer Ed for your lives there!
