Late September update

Monday, September 23, 2024  Greetings from North Valley, New Mexico! As I enjoy photos of the beautiful color showing up in the Utah mountains, I have to be honest and say that I don’t mind at all that I’m here enjoying my pool instead. I’m also watching online as old friends get ready to host their annual fall alpaca open houses and I’m reminded of how much work it takes to host these events. I hope you will find an alpaca farm near you to visit and help make their efforts worthwhile. For the first time since we sold the herd in 2023, I’m starting to feel like I can really enjoy retirement. My emotions were too crushed after selling the herd to really enjoy anything at Blue Moon Ranch. The empty barn and pastures haunted me. But here, in a new place with new things to do, I’m finding relaxation is not a bad thing.  I know the herd and the guardian dogs are doing well and I’m finally at peace with it all.

It feels like the last half of unpacking might take forever. I know why people eventually put boxes in an attic or basement and call it done. But we don’t have a basement or an attic and there are still things I’m looking for so I continue to open boxes.

We are grateful for good health and this magical new environment. To those who are still following, thanks as always for checking in.

Photos of the day: Much of the house is new and bright, but I am drawn to this dark old corner, and I love it’s history. I think I have a perfect pair of chairs that I will put in front of this fireplace. I chose this canvas a few years ago and it seems to fit perfectly in this spot.

I am in this pool every single day.  #grateful

Meanwhile the dogs are just thinking about it. lol

I predict Belle will be the first one to jump in.

Meanwhile back in Utah, the rescue horses are enjoying a beautiful fall at Blue Moon.

And Toothless never misses the action. This one was just sent to me this morning as he followed the girls around.  #mylittleblackpanther

All is well.  #grateful

So happy for both of you and love that you have found peace and relaxation in your new home. The pool looks
very refreshing and I can see why you are drawn to that fireplace space. One box at a time, that’s what I say! 🙂

My eyes watered a bit while reading this and viewing the photos. I could just feel the energy of your peace and tranquility. That canvas is perfect by the Kiva fireplace. I love how your little black panther has become sort of a mascot for the ranch. So happy for you my friend.

I love our pool in Florida. Fortunately, Helene bypassed us in St. Augustine. I miss Utah sometimes, but . . . time for new things. Toothless is one lucky kitty to have found Blue Moon Ranch.

Thanks Cathy. I love visiting St. Augustine when we’re in Florida.
Yes, Toothless is one special kitty and the horse rescue girls all love him.
