Back in Utah

Friday, August 23, 2024 For anyone who is still following the story line here….. We just returned from claiming our new home in New Mexico. We bought the property one weekend way back in May of this year. It seemed absolutely perfect when we made the offer, but as we got closer to taking possession, I was concerned it might not live up to my expectations. I was so wrong. It’s even better than I expected. Little bits of magic lurk around every corner and I couldn’t be more delighted. We will make the bigger move with the dogs in about a week.

We found a Costco 10 minutes from the house!  What?  You know it takes us just about an hour to get anywhere from here. Country living was sweet for all those years but I’m ready to have more than 1 restaurant in the neighborhood.  Trader Joe’s, Farmer’s markets, restaurants, just about any kind of store you might look for are all nearby, but the house still feels quiet and not in the bustle of it all. And a llama rescue is right next door!  I kid you not! How perfect is that?

It was unbearably HOT when we were there, but the house has AC and the pool was perfect. The heat was unusual the neighbors say and it looks to be cooler when we return so that is good news.

I believe we have a solution for the barn cats here and they will be well taken care of. Toothless might have a home if he likes living with a dog, so that will be determined, but I feel OK about it all.

If you notice the ‘Closed’ sign on the Blue Moon Website, it was necessary because of too many visitors still wanting to come for tours. I tried to keep everyone informed, but I was still getting at least 3 requests every week and some folks might just show up. So I had to make it a little more clear!

As always I try to share only the good stuff, but let me tell you, moving is a LOT of work!  But we will do it at our pace and rest as needed. Thanks for checking in as always!

Photos of the day: I never noticed this window, because it’s in the garage! Pretty sweet!

A sign for sure, it looks exactly like the ones I have all over the ranch.

And our 4 sweet kitties will get to stay in their cat house.

So sad and Happy at the same time! Thank you for the update on you…do you have an update on the Minnesota Alpacas? Was wondering if you stay in touch?
Take good care you two and family…..
It certainly was my pleasure to me you!

I follow the Minnesota alpacas on Facebook. I decided it was probably best for my mental health to let go of too much hovering over the herd. They all seem to be doing well. 😁
It was a pleasure to meet you too Jill!

Thanks Sharon. The kitties do love their cat house and this neighborhood. It’s a pretty safe place for them and their new caretakers are perfect.
