Catching up

Thursday, July 18, 2024  It’s been a while, I know.  I promise I’ve not been sitting around eating bon bons. 😁

We are now the new owners of a beautiful home in New Mexico where we will eventually rest our bones. The seller is staying on for a bit and keeping things under control until we get there. I trust it will all fall in to place, as things have since I started this next adventure. The logistics of moving are overwhelming at times but we can do this…or so we say.

Earlier this year I offered to host my older grandkids here for a week before they all go back to school. At the time, I did not know that we were going to find our New Mexico home and be planning a move, but if Yaya says she’s going to do something, Yaya does it. So the week before we fly out, we’ll have a grandkid’s week at the ranch!  (early August) The gentle boy will be here of course to be the ring leader, and because his cousins love to spend time with him. It’s all about making memories, right? ❤️

We’re looking at some exciting possibilities for housing some rescue animals here, but I can’t say much more until we make that arrangement. Of course I’ll let you know when I can.

Requests for farm tours still come in several times every week, I’ve been as transparent as I can to let people know the animals aren’t here any more, but it seems all the marketing I did for all those years really worked!  ha  I could remove us from Google maps, but we still use that to get deliveries, etc. I suppose eventually it will slow down.

I do need to start thinking about rehoming my sweet barn cats. They are so content here, and I love being able to take care of them but soon it will be time to face the facts. Toothless is such a love!  When I take his food out each morning, all he wants is for me to hold him. Love first, food second. And he’s growing into a beautiful mini black panther!  I know he will make someone very happy. I’m kind of dreaming that someone will want them all –  don’t laugh, it’s how we found a new home for the alpacas and guardian dogs! #postivethinking

When I need to take a mental break from the current happening, I retreat to my doll making table and work on a doll or two. I’m almost finished with my crow lady, and by her side I have a wise man waiting for more work. It’s amazingly helpful when I’m out there and it does clear my head to deal with the rest of whet I have to deal with. I hope to have some dolls to offer for sale this fall, the ones I’m working on have been spoken for.

I’ll be popping in with updates as I can. Until then be well and thanks as always for checking in!

I treasure my spirit doll. She resides in my kitchen as a constant remembrance of my trip to Iceland. And of you too, Linda.
