Cows Curves and Cuddles

Thursday June 27, 2024  I decided to put my big girl pants on and make a trip to Boulder Utah to visit my newest grandson.  I do not like driving alone, I do not like diving on unfamiliar roads and I do not like driving more more than an hour anywhere. But I started the 4 1/2 hour trip with some good music and road trip snacks. Farmer Ed had agreed to stay here with our dogs so off I went.  My son said, ‘Ma, watch out for cows they’re all over the roads’. Then I got a text from my daughter, ‘mom, watch for cows when you drive’. Well, they really weren’t kidding. As I got closer to Boulder I had to stop many times for cows who just stared at me while they decided if they wanted to moooooove or not.

But I made it. Only after I arrived did they tell me that my son had a ‘run in’ with a cow 2 nights before I arrived when he was driving home from work. Totally dark, a black cow waiting around a curve, a recipe for disaster. The car was totaled, the cow did not survive but my son escaped with only a few bruises and that is really all that mattered. No wonder they were warning me about the cows around every curve!

But we had a wonderful visit, I got lot of snuggle time with my grandson and after a few days I drove home…very carefully!

An update on the big move will be coming soon. Until then, thanks for checking in!

Photos of the day:  Do you see them?

Not a lot of traffic, but better keep eyes open for cows!

They were everywhere!  Excuse the bugs on windshield.  lol

Thanks for coming to see me Yaya!

I love this sweet family.  Baby is wearing an alpaca hat of course.

The car. 😢

      Thanks for your comment Brenda!
It seems there was a family agreement not to tell me about the accident until I got there! Just lots of words of caution. lol
