Wednesday, March 27, 2024 The gentle boy has been staying with us this week and as expected he has been exactly what our feral kitten ‘Toothless’ needed. Somehow he has convinced this previously wild ball of black fur that people are fun to be around. A little history; several years ago another black and white kitten showed up and was terrified of the white dogs and also of us. Luckily, the gentle boy happened to be here that time, worked his magic and named this new kitten Odin. Once we convinced the white dogs that this kitten was not an intruder, all was well. Odin is now a big boy cat and calls this place home but wanders off often. Somehow he got the word that the gentle boy was here so he came home for a few days. And he did not want to share the gentle boy with the new kitten! lol But love and patience won. Toothless now will sit on a lap, purring, reaches out for head scratches and has done a complete transformation from the terrified little kitten who first showed up here. He comes out from his hiding places when we call him and is pretty much an adorable addition to our feline family.
Oh, he did have a few scary episodes before the gentle boy arrived where our house dogs got outside and chased him up a tree! We got the dogs back in the house easily enough but Toothless was not about to come down until he was 100% sure those dogs were gone. It took him a few hours but he did make it down. No wonder he spends so much time in the cat house.
Also, I was able to get my office 100% emptied, thanks to Farmer Ed and the gentle boy’s moving skills. New floor is in and I’m slowly putting things back together. What a project! But I’m so glad to be rid of the old carpet. It’s still snowing here, but we also see melting every day. Such is spring in northern Utah. Be well, and thanks, as always for checking in.
