Tuesday, November 28, 2023 Dropping in with a quick update from the alpaca farm with no alpacas. Ha, I’m not too happy about the new identity, but I call it like I see it.
We do still have barn cats however and I’ll tell you how they’re doing. First of all, I really think they miss the alpacas and big white dogs. They all crave my attention when I’m outside so I’m giving them extra TLC. They have accepted their relocation in to one of the outbuildings closer to the house which will make it easier for me to care for them in the deep snow months. Odin, the wanderer, hasn’t left since he got his new bed and heat lamp installed. They can come and go as they please as before, but their new home is warm and secure. Those big white dogs protected them from intruders and I think they knew that. Why not bring them in the house you might ask? Belle and Banjo do not do well with cats and the cats are used to the freedom that barn cats enjoy. It really wouldn’t work. For now I think we have a good solution.
Regarding inventory in the online store: Our “super warm” Alpaca socks are selling well and when they’re gone they’re gone. I have them at last year prices and you will not find them at a better price anywhere. Two batches of soap are also available for purchase, even though they are still curing and helping our mud room smell divine! Shipping dates are listed in the description of each batch. I hope to get one more batch done for holiday shipping. I’ve started making alpaca beanies again and have one ready but it isn’t in the store yet. Photo below.
