Friday, November 24, 2023 I hope you all enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving yesterday with friends or family. We had both join us here at the ranch. And after cooking for 2 days I’m ready to take a day of! Yay for leftovers!
I’ve never been crazy for Black Friday and the idea of rushing to crowded stores for sales seems more unappealing this year than ever. This year I want to normalize gifts that will never end up in a landfill. A loaf of homemade bread? Tickets to a play or movie? Handmade soap? A package of seeds or a tree seedling to plant? I’m still working on ideas but you get the theme.
I did make some soap and even knit a hat and soon they will be in the online store. But today we rest.
The snow started last night just as everyone was leaving and we have a pretty blanket of white covering everything this morning. Time to build a fire and enjoy the quiet.
Enjoy today. Thanks for checking in.
Photo of the day: Birdhouse is available if our feathered friends need shelter from the storm.
And my favorite tree is all decked out for the season. 🌲
28 bars of Yuzu soap are ready to be cut.

I soooo enjoy your photos of each season as it shows off on your land.

Thanks Sunny. I appreciate your encouragement. I struggle a bit with the empty barns and pastures when I look outside but I’m trying to find the beauty that is still here.

Lucky birds to have such a stylish place to rest their weary feathers.

Thanks Caryl. I found this birdhouse at our local Farmers Market this summer and I hoped our feathered friends would approve!
