Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Well it looks like our shearing day might be on June 10. The schedule bounces around a bit at this time of year but we hope this sticks. We have a barn full of experienced volunteers that will make the day go as smoothly as possible and they can all come that day so our fingers are crossed. The alpacas are definitely ready to donate their winter coats to the Blue Moon fiber pool. It will be near 70° today and I wouldn’t want to wear my winter coat on a day like today! I might have to open the “beach” pasture for them today so they can cool off. Lucky pacas. 😁 Have a good Wednesday!
Photo of the day: I love all the colors of fleece we have in our herd.

That is the same day as our shearing is scheduled! Our temps today are in the 40’s, so today our guys are glad to have their fleeces. Wind is howling! But it will go back to the 60’s in a couple of days. Hope your date sticks! You have such a lovely herd.

Thanks Lana! I hope we both have smooth and easy shearing days!
