Saturday, April 8, 2023 The birds seem to enjoy the blue cloudless skies here as much as we do. When the gentle boy and I were sitting outside last week on the first ‘dog release’ day, we saw a bald eagle, several red tail hawks, a blue heron, a pair of crows and several groups of sandhill cranes fly over our heads. He’s been able to identify many species of birds since he was a wee boy.
Since Juno still needs one more day of recovery, we are walking both white dogs and letting them enjoy the sunshine too. We often see a pair of juvenile retail hawks when we walk and I was able to catch a photo of this one yesterday. Their tails will be red when they mature and we see the mature hawks flying over the ranch often. I’m grateful they’re here and call this place home. Happy Saturday!
PS If you are boiling eggs today and want an egg that is easy to peel, go here for the recipe!
Photo of the day: Look at those beautiful blue skies! And the lovely hawk just waiting for movement in the snow.
